Today, we speak up for culture, for creativity, and for the stories we pass down. No copy cats dito!
Kumusta Pusa was created to reconnect children of the Filipino diaspora with their language, their heritage, and their pride. It is more than a character—it is a cultural movement rooted in love, literacy, and legacy.
We recently received legal threats from Sanrio, the creators of Hello Kitty, suggesting that our mark and character infringe on their property. BTW, She’s not a cat (Yano, 2013). Confuse consumers? We respectfully and strongly disagree. Kumusta Pusa is an original, culturally distinct creation born from the Filipino experience, and we will defend her.
We offered to resolve this matter professionally and respectfully. Our letters have gone unanswered.
So now, we go public—with the same purpose we started with: to educate, empower, and uplift our community.

Kumusta Pusa believes in the power of connection and culture.
Inspired by the Filipino spirit of warmth, resilience, and joy, Kumusta Pusa loves making friends and embodies a love for heritage and a playful approach to life.
Her philosophy is simple: celebrate where you come from, stay curious, and greet every day (and everyone) with a heart full of kindness.
As the main character of the “Kumusta Pusa Loves” children’s book series, her purr'pose is to inspire a sense of culture and happiness, one paw print at a time.

Mission Statement
Meow meow, friends! My mission is to spread kindness and a love for Filipino culture, one paw print at a time. I believe in sharing stories that connect us, celebrating where we come from, and inspiring curiosity in every heart I meet. Through every page, I pounce with joy, kindness, and a big love for heritage, because that’s the Filipino way!
Vision
I dream of a world where kindness leads the way and every child feels proud of their roots, excited to learn about others, and eager to share smiles. With each paw print, I hope to create connections, celebrate cultures, and build a brighter, friendlier world. Together, let’s explore, share, and grow with warmth, resilience, and joy—because life is purr-fect when we’re kind to one another!
Notes: In the Tagalog language, there isn't a word for "Hello." Kumusta Pusa does not translate to Hello Cat. The linguistically accurate translation of "Kumusta Pusa" is "How are you, Cat".
The polite respectful form of this phrase in Tagalog would be “Pusa, Kumusta po.” We used our creative license to use the informal phrase “Kumusta Pusa.” A way to greet someone or to start a conversation is to simply say, Kumusta ka na?”
Just like you'd say ”How’s it going?” or "Howzit?" when greeting a friend or someone you just met, why not try "Kumusta ka po?" or "Kumusta ka na?"
Kumusta Pusa loves starting a conversation by using the local language and making new friends. What do you think mga kaibigan?
